Actor Rajinikanth's upcoming movie Thalaivar 169 is expected to begin shooting from August, 2022 and Kannada actor Shivarajkumar who plays a key role in the movie had also previously confirmed the same. Latest we hear Thalaivar 169 will begin shooting at Hyderabad from the first week of August.

Additionally, it is also being reported that actor Sivakarthikeyan has been roped in for a special role in the movie. It is being suggested that the actor, along with penning lyrics for a song in the film would be portraying a younger version of Rajinikanth in the flashback portions. Rumours are also wild that Thalaivar 169 may be titled Criminal; None of this has been officially confirmed.

A Nelson Dilipkumar directorial and a Sun Pictures production, Thalaivar 169 is also said to be starring Priyanka Mohan, Ramya Krishnan, Redin Kingsley, among others. The movie has music by Anirudh.
