Actor Vijay played an alcoholic college professor named JD in his 2021 film Master, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie has now released in Japan as Sensei and the Japanese posters and showtimes of the movie, can be seen all over social media.  

Master's story revolves around JD who sobers up following a tragedy, and goes after a ruthless gangster (played by Vijay Sethupathi) who uses juvenile prisoners to further his criminal enterprise. The movie has Malavika Mohanan playing female lead and is a production venture of Vijay's uncle Xavier Britto.
