Actor Vikram who is currently basking in the success of Ponniyin Selvan: Part One, will soon begin shooting for his next movie tentatively titled Chiyaan 61. Buzz is that the test shoot of this Studio Green production will begin tomorrow i.e. October 12, 2022 at Chennai and full fledged shooting will commence from October 14, 2022. 

Written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, Chiyaan 61 is a period drama set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) and is based on the story of real life KGF miners that existed during British India. Pa Ranjith has said that the movie will have raw, gritty as well as magical realism elements.

Rashmika Mandanna plays female lead (official announcement awaited) and GV Prakash scores music. Chiyaan 61 has been planned on a massive budget and will be released in 3D.
