Last month, we had reported that Dhanush starrer Naane Varuven is eyeing September 30, 2022 as a potential release date and that it will be clashing with Mani Ratnam directed Ponniyin Selvan: Part One (PS-I) if finalized. Naane Varuven has since been buzzed as a Diwali release too, with October 21, 2022 suggested as a possible release date.

Recently the makers of Naane Varuven unveiled a new set of posters which came bearing a 'soon in theaters' tag.  The buzz of a Naane Varuven Vs PS-I box-office clash was thus reignited and fans of both films are waiting for an official announcement on the same.

Dhanush and Karthi starrers have clashed at the box-office before on three separate occasions - in 2016 when Kodi and Kaashmora released one day after the other and during the Pongal of 2011 and 2010 when Aadukalam, Siruthai and Kutty, Aayirathil Oruvan released on the same date respectively.
