Director Obeli Krishna's upcoming action thriller Pathu Thala, featuring actors Silambarasan TR, Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead is scheduled to hit screens on December 14 , 2022. The movie's shooting had unexpectedly halted due to T Rajendar's health complications for which Silambarasan, his son had to pull out of filming and travel out of the country for his father's treatment.

Now word has it that Pathu Thala shooting will resume this month, most likely from July 25, 2022. A remake of director Narthan's Kannada movie Mufti (2017), Pathu Thala is produced by Studio Green and Pen Studios. The movie has AR Rahman for music and will see Silambarasan TR as an underground don named AGR.
