Vikram named after a 1986 Kamal Haasan film is an upcoming emotional action thriller also starring Kamal Haasan, and it is scheduled to release in theaters on June 3, 2022. Even though only a few days are left for the film to hit cinema halls, the plot/storyline of Vikram movie which is a spiritual sequel/spin-off to its 1986 predecessor remains highly unknown. 

However we managed to scrape bits and pieces of the confirmed storyline and summarize it here. In his own words, Kamal Haasan has described Vikram to be a 'Quentin-Tatarantio-ish' movie and he has revealed the story-line to be the 'search of the protagonist'. Kamal Haasan has also said that the idea of this movie was his brain-child which he had originally come up with for the 1986 Vikram. But given its unpredictability and lack of songs, his idea was branded 'too maverick' and cast aside 36 years ago.

Lokesh Kanagaraj who was highly impressed with Kamal Haasan's idea that was way ahead of its time [by the director's own words], expressed interest in taking it and has given it his own spin by incorporating his usual mix of a one-night-story, a multi-starrer, non-linear narration, crime backdrop, drugs, no-strong female characters and characters who inadvertently rise up to the occassion.

It is also being said that Fahadh Faasil plays a cop named Amar who suspects a couple of murder cases to be serial killings and his investigation leads to a war among the entities connected to the case. Vijay Sethupathi - the gangster, Narain and Kamal Haasan a retired and presumably blind cop [unconfirmed],  are other main characters in this story. 

Just to fuel my wild guesses..the last scene in GCD is jail scene ..we saw a jail scene in #Vikram second teaser also.

While theories about Vikram's plot and story-line are never-ending and in abundance with the information revealed so far, it remains to be seen if any of them actually hold true for the movie.
