Superstar Rajinikanth's latest release Coolie, has been having a blockbuster run in all overseas locations it released in on April 14, 2025. In Singapore, the movie went on to gross S$ 1.27 Million at 4-day the opening weekend box-office.

Now amidst all this fervour, Rajinikanth's cult blockbuster Baasha (1995) is gearing up for a re-release in Singapore on August 29, 2025. Mask Studios is distributing the Baasha re-release in Singapore, and reportedly the opening night on August 29 is already 80% full at the moment.

Coolie (2025) written and directed by Lokesh Kanagraj is a Sun Pictures production with Anirudh Ravichander for music. The movie is an action thriller following the story a former union leader-turned-boarding house warden (Rajinikanth) who is pulled back into the underworld, where buried pasts, undercover betrayals, and a daughter (Shruthi Haasan) he must secretly protect collide in a brutal battle between coolies, and a global crime syndicate with Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, and Aamir Khan as villains.
Baashha (1995) written and directed by Suresh Krissna is a Sathya Movies production with Deva for music, and Balakumaran for the timeless dialogues, that went on to become iconic over the decades. Baasha is a gangster action thriller that follows the story of a meek auto-rickshaw driver (Rajinikanth), in Madras who hides a deadly past as 'Baashha,' Bombay’s most feared don—until old enemies resurface, forcing him to unleash the gangster within. Baashha has Nagma as the female lead, and Raghuvaran, Devan as antagonists.
