Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie has delivered a thunderous start worldwide, grossing Rs. 151 crore on its opening day. This is the highest opening day collection ever for a Kollywood film, surpassing the previous record held by Vijay’s Leo (Rs. 148 crore). In India, the film raked in an impressive Rs. 75 crore gross, while its overseas collection stood at $8.75 million (approximately Rs. 76 crore). North America emerged as the top overseas contributor, bringing in around $3.95 million alone.

Back home, Coolie witnessed double-digit opening day grosses in almost all key states, further cementing its status as one of the biggest Tamil cinema openings of 2025.

A Sun Pictures production, Coolie is a multi-starrer action thriller marking the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and writer-director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film boasts a PAN-Indian ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruthi Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Pooja Hegde, and was released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada on August 14, 2025.
