Valimai is director H. Vinoth's second film with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and the movie is gearing up for a Pongal, 2022 release in theaters. Posters, teasers of the movie have made it clear that bikes and bikers will be a major part of the story; But H. Vinoth has clarified that Valimai is 'not a film about motorcycle clubs that originated in Europe.'

Valimai's association to the infamous Satan's Slaves Motorcycle Club came about based on villain Karthikeya's dialogue, "We are the slaves of Satan. The dark web is our world." There was also a symbol of an outlawed bike club in one of the early videos.

Such clubs are known to be part of many illegal activities and H. Vinoth's recent statement that Valimai tackles with 'two social issues' seems to have added to the presumption. Besides clarifying that this is not the case, H.Vinoth has also said that Valimai is a commercial film with 'action and doses of family drama' and there is 'more emphasis on mass elements'.
