Actor Rajinikanth who was seen in the Sun Pictures produced Annaatthe this year, seems to be gearing up for a new movie announcement with the same banner again. Ahead of the actor turning 71 tomorrow, there is a strong buzz in the industry that this new film announcement will be made on Rajini's birthday.

MovieCrow had previously reported that directors Karthik Subbaraj, Pandiraj are in talks to direct Thalaivar 169 [Since the new film will be Rajini's 169th]. K.S. Ravikumar was also in close consideration since and it remains to be seen which of these directors has come on board.
