With that, director Karthik Subbaraj was only name remaining in contention for Rajinikanth next. Now we hear, director Pandiraj is also in the ring and talks are on for him to direct Rajinikanth for a Sun Pictures film. 

Rajinikanth's next will be the actor's 169th film and it remains to be seen who will end up directing Thalaivar 169.
