Actor Ajith's upcoming movie Valimai is scheduled to release in theaters for Pongal next year and while it was anticipated that movies like Beast (Vijay) or Etharkkum Thunindhavan (ET), could give it box-office competition, that seems to not be the case. Valimai is not just releasing solo but it is coming out a few days ahead of the Pongal holiday weekend.

Buzz is that Valimai will be releasing in theaters worldwide on January 12, 2022 (Wednesday) and if finalized, the movie will be able to cash in on the festive holidays which fall between January 14 (Friday) and January 17 (Monday). 

Directed by H. Vinoth, Valimai is produced by Boney Kapoor's Bay View Projects and is being presented by Zee Studios, Romeo Pictures and Gopuram Cinemas. The film also stars Karthikeya, Huma Qureshi, Yogi Babu among others and has Yuvan Shankar Raja for music.
