Sun Pictures has now officially announced that actor Jagapathi Babu has joined the cast of Rajinikanth's Annaatthe. The update comes at a time when speculations about Annaatthe shooting getting cancelled were doing the rounds.

Jagapathi Babu has been brought on-board for the villain role for which Jackie Shroff was considered originally. However Shroff couldn't commit to his Uttar Dakshin co-star's film due to date issues. 

Directed by Siva, Annaatthe also stars Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Meena and Khushbu among others. The film is scheduled to release on November 4, 2021.
