#ValimaiUpdate was a top trend on social media these past three days owing to several viral video clips and photos of Ajith fans, expressing their exasperation for an update on the movie in random places like sports and political events. Though it was done in all fun and jest, Valimai producer Boney Kapoor felt obligated to acknowledge the trend as most of the banners asking for an update were addressed to him. 

Following this the social-media absent Ajith himself has now come out with a note addressing these fan activities. Clearly upset with the tone of this 'Valimai update' campaign, Ajith wrote to his fans,

"As announced earlier, updates on Valimai will be out in due time. I will decide when and at what time after discussing it with the producer. Please be patient till then. Cinema is just entertainment for you. But for me it is my profession. My decisions depend on my work and social welfare. Our respect in this society is decided by our actions.

 

Keeping this in mind, I request that fans maintain discipline and decorum in public events and on social media. I hope that those who truly love me will act accordingly,”

Valimai directed by H. Vinoth is touted to be an action-entertainer and Ajith will be seen playing a police officer in it. The movie has been in the making for a while now but fans have not had any updates on it due to production delays and other reasons.
