During the India vs England test match that was taking place in Chennai, a video of Ajith fans having fun at the expense of England spinner Moeen Ali went viral. Ali was fielding at the boundary line on day 1 when these fans asked him for Valimai update.

Valimai is Ajith's upcoming film with director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor and previously, over the lack of constant updates due to prolonged production, fans resorted to such quirky extreme measures to prod the makers for one. Following Moeen Ali, Indian player Ashwin Ravi who happens to be from Chennai was also extended the same courtesy of being asked for the film's update.
