Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Master released in theaters on January 13, 2021 and the box-office performance of this Vijay starrer has exceeded expectations. Not only in Tamil Nadu but Vijay has proven his box-office pull in Karnataka as well, with the movie grossing approximately Rs. 14 Cr. in the opening weekend.

The day wise box-office spilt of Master's collection in Karnataka:

• January 13, 2021 - Rs. 5 Cr. 
• January 14, 2021 - Rs. 2.8 Cr.
• January 15, 2021 - Rs. 2.3 Cr.
• January 16, 2021 - Rs. 2.2 Cr.
• January 17, 2021 - Rs. 1.6 Cr.

The number is decent given the pandemic situation, and proves that Master has given a promising start for theaters in our neighbouring state as well.
