Chakra, actor Vishal's upcoming movie directed by MS Anandan was recently in the news for planning to release directly on OTT by Diwali this year. However, production company Trident arts went legal as soon as the news surfaced for two reasons

• Trident Arts claims that MS Anandan had received a token advance of Rs. 1 lakh on August 29, 2018 for a script both the director and the production house decided Vishal would be the lead for. According to Trident Arts, Anandan ended up making the film as Chakra under Vishal's production house.

• Trident Arts claims that they produced Vishal's Action at a budget of Rs. 44 Cr. only after Vishal signed an agreement that he would refund the losses incurred if the movie failed to yield Rs. 20 Cr. from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Vishal still owes Rs. 8 Cr. to the production house.

Madras High Court has now issued a notice to Vishal to file his petition by Thursaday i.e. September 24, 2020, after Trident Arts approached the court for staying the OTT release of Chakra. According to the company, Vishal is planning on selling the film to Zee 5 for Rs. 44 Cr.
