In what is being deemed as a total game changer for big budget movies, Tamil film Soorarai Pottru which has long awaited a theatrical release will now instead be premiering on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Soorarai Pottru will be available for streaming starting October 30, 2020 and the same was officially announced today. 

The move to release a film as big as Soorarai Pottru is by far the boldest from the Tamil cine industry and Suriya who is also part producer of the movie said in a statement that he will be donating Rs. 5 Cr. towards the COVID-19 relief from the digital sale of this movie.
