It has now been officially confirmed that Rajinikanth's Annaatthe is hitting theater screens not in 2020 but for Pongal in 2021. Previously, the film was expected to hit theater screens during the pooja holidays in October but the outbreak of novel Coronavirus COVID-19 seems to have brought a change in the plans.

Annaatthe directed by Siva and produced by Sun Pictures is touted to be a story of the bond between an elder brother and his sisters and also stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushboo, Meena, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy, George Maryan among others. The film has music by Imman, cinematograhy by Vetri and edits by Reuben.
