Director Shankar who along with Kajal Aggarwal escaped narrowly in the freak crane accident on the sets of Indian 2 [which claimed the lives of three technicians - Assistant Director Krishna, Art Assistant Chandran, Production Assistant Madhu and left nine others injured] has finally broken his silence on the matter. Earlier today, Shankar took to twitter to write:

It is with utmost grief, I’m tweeting.Since the tragic incident,I’ve been in a state of shock & having sleepless nights on the loss of my AD & crew.Having missed the crane by a whisker,I feel it would’ve been better if it was on me. Heartfelt condolences & prayers to the families

Actor Kamal Haasan who plays lead in Indian 2 has also written a letter to producers Lyca Productions expressing how the banner should make sure that all guidelines of safety are followed by them, in addition to requesting  medical help for the crew members.

Haasan has also mentioned how such incidents only destroy the trust and confidence of the entire team and that it is the responsibility of the production house to take care that accidents like that on February 19, 2020 don’t happen in the future.

It is worth mentioning here that while Kamal Haasan has announced Rs. 1 Cr. as relief to the surviving families, Lyca produtions has announced an aid of Rs. 2 Cr.
