We had recently reported that Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi will be shooting in the Shivamogga (Shimoga) district of Karnataka from December 1, 2019, to January 18, 2020 and latest on this front is that this schedule of Thalapathy 64 will take place in in and around Shivamogga prison.

A copy of the permission letter from the Shimoga district administration is currently doing the rounds on the internet and it states that team Thalapathy 64 should ensure the maintenance of law and order while filming in this historic place.

Further, the letter also indicates that the crew will be cleaning the premises (spread around 46 acres) from January 21, 2020 to January 30, 2020 post their filming schedule. It is worth mentioning here that the Shivamogga prison which was built in 1897 housed several freedom fighters before becoming a district prison in the state of Karnataka.
