Movies This Week: Unconventional Takes Over with Ford V Ferrari, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25!

This week, film releases that have garnered the viewers' attention fall into the 'out of box' category at-least by the standard of Indian movies. A look into which of these have fared well to be given a watch in theaters:

  • Action (Tamil): The story of an Army officer on the hunt for a terrorist has been told with a visual glow-up but the movie has turned out to be a major bummer for most of its factors other than the lead actor. (Review Here)

  • Ford V Ferrari (English): The latest Christian Bale and Matt Damon outing is a fine one to say the least and it is based on a true story of how the motorhead company Ford went on to take the defending race cars of Ferrari with the help of two proficient men (a car designer and a speed racer) at their disposal. The movie is a must for its well-drawn content and solid performances.

  • Charlie's Angels (English): A reboot of the famous franchise and the third film in the series, Charlie's Angels 2019 stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Blanksa, Elizabeth Banks, Noah Centineo and Patrick Stewart among others and is about a new group of Angels trying to find a stop and traitor within the agency. This movie makes for a good one-time watch for fans of the franchise.

  • Motherless Brooklyn (English): A neo-noir crime drama based on an eponymous novel, this film is another starry affair featuring Edward Norton and Bruce Willis among others. Motherless Brooklyn has garnered mixed reactions from the critics and audience alike.

  • Marjaavan (Hindi): Siddharth Malhotra, Ritesh Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria star in this mafia laden drama which hasn't had too many takers this week.

  • Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (Malyalam): Originally released last week in Kerala, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 is an unconventional story where technology meets human emotions. An ailing father is left with a robot by his son to look after and the events that unfold post the same forms the rest of the story. The movie however is a total surprise package and makes for a compelling watch this weekend. (Review Here)
