Post the ruckus that took place over mocking of Rajinikanth's political entry in Comali trailer, producer Ishari Ganesh has decided to remove the controversial scene from the movie. To the unknown, Jayam Ravi starrer Comali had a trailer release on Saturday which contained a scene where Jayam Ravi waking up from a coma refuses to believe it is not 1996 after watching Rajinikanth making the grand announcement about his political entry on TV.
A obvious dig that the Superstar actor has not entered politics since 1996, this scene was later explained by director Pradeep as a 'fan's light-hearted take on Rajinikanth's highly anticipated political entry". However, #BoycottComali had started trending by then, with fans demanding an open apology over the scenario or else loose viewers for the film, which is slated for a release on August 15, 2019.
Actor Kamal Haasan too is said to have called the producer and expressed his disappointment over the same.
