Its raining women centric films in the South this month, with Jyothika starrer Raatchasi (Tamil) and Samantha starrer Oh Baby (Telugu) already releasing to critical acclaim and favourable audience response. While the former addresses a social message of education system in government schools (review here), the latter touches upon the importance of sensitivity towards a lone woman (review here).
Added to this, Amala Paul has raised curiosity levels by portraying a bold character which does not adhere to societal norms in her upcoming film Aadai. The teaser and trailer of this film has garnered considerable attention and the film releases this July 19.
Nayanthara, who has been steering women-centric movies in Tamil for a while now will also see a release in the form of Kolayuthir Kaalam this month. She plays a play a deaf and mute girl who inadvertently becomes the target of a woman-killer in this movie.
