Nadigar Sangam Election gets cancelled! HC Refuses Urgent Hearing!

 

The Kollywood based South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA), also known as the Nadigar Sangam was gearing up for its office elections onJune 23, 2019 before the Registrar of Societies postponed the event indefinitely. Based on a complaint from 62 members who had previously voted and were denied voting rights for the current elections, the registrar on Wednesday ordered the elections to be stopped until there was a clear explanation for the same.

Added to this, the Madras High court on Tuesday denied permission to hold the event at Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women stating that it would cause traffic issues and disturbance to the public. Both the Pandavar Ani, led by Vishal, Nasser and Karthi and Swami Sankaradas Ani lead by K Bhagyaraj blamed each other as pulling this 'stunt' as a 'tactic for self-benefit'.

Meanwhile, the Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed Nadigar Sangam's plea for an urgent hearing on the matter, in tone with the 'hype' being created over their elections.
