During Rajinikanth's last outing Petta, the opening song of the film had created quite the anticipation for a specific reason and it was because 'Marana Mass' promised to bring back S.P. Balasubramaniam's voice for Rajini. However SPB's short-stint in the song had left many fans disappointed and they did not hold back in expressing the same.
Now, SPB is all set to croon for Rajinikanth again in the actor's upcoming film Darbar and reportedly it is for the opening number of the film. And unlike their previous collaboration, this number will solely be sung by the veteran singer.
The Rajini - SPB combo have earlier given us hit songs like Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalaali (Muthu), En Peru Padayappa (Padayappa), Devuda Devuda (Chandramukhi), Balleilakka (Sivaji), Pudhiya Manidha (Enthiran) and their team up this time is said to be for a 'melodic yet peppy number' like the first song.
Darbar directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Lyca Productions is touted to be an action thriller and has Rajinikanth playing an encounter specialist IPS officer in it. The film is slated for a Pongal, 2020 release.
