Malayalam super-natural thriller Ezra was one of the hit horror films from 2017 starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas and Priya Anand among others. The film is now being remade in Hindi and actor Emraan Hashmi has been confirmed to play the lead in it.
Ezra was originally written and directed by Jay K (Jay Krishnan) and he will be directing the Hindi version as well. The Bollywood version will be jointly produced by T Series and Panorama Studios and shot at Mumbai and Mauritius.
Ezra revolved around a couple expecting a baby and how a paranormal spirit tries to disrupt their life. It also involved a love story and explored the history of Jewish culture in Kerala.
