Dhanush's Asuran is set in 1960-1980!

 

We had earlier reported that Vetrimaaran directed period drama Asuran will see Dhanush in a dual role of father and son and the same has now been confirmed by the director himself. In a latest interview, Vetrimaaran has revealed that Dhanush will be seen playing a role of a 45 year old in the movie along with one other role.
 
The director revealed that the film which is based on the Tamil novel Vekkai is set between 1960 and 1980 and encompasses a portion of the Poomani authored novel, which otherwise would make for a 25 hour film.

It has also been revealed that actor Pasupathi who is touted to be the villain of this film will be seen playing Manju Warrier's brother and the family's godfather in the movie. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, Asuran is expected to release later this year and has G.V. Prakash for music. Checkout new stills from the movie here:
