Shankar's magnum opus 2.0 is merely hours away from premiering in theater screens and at this time, it has been revealed that the film's ticket sales through advance booking has reached 1 Million. BookMyShow, India's popular vendor for movie tickets have announced that 10 lakh tickets of the Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer have been sold across all languages on their platform.
A statement from bookmyshow's COO, Ashish Saxsena read, "BookMyShow has sold over 1 Million tickets in advance sales across all the three languages and formats, with 3D dominating the sales.." 2.0 is releasing in both 2D and 3D formats in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages.
The film is releasing across the country in record 7800+ screens and will get nearly 33,000 shows on day 1 with the earliest show starting at 4 AM in several places.The movie which has already recovered half of its cost in pre-release business is expected to surpass day 1 box-office collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which was the first Indian film to record Rs. 100 Cr+ (gross) collections on its day 1 of release, in all languages.
