The first look poster of Dhanush's Maari 2 and character posters of Sai Pallavi as 'Araathu Aanandhi' and Krishna as Kalai have been released by the makers recently. Maari 2 directed by Balaji Mohan is set to hit the screens on December 21, 2018. 

Maari 2 is a sequel to 2015 gangster comedy film Maari. Dhanush played a local thug with an affinity for pigeons. The sequel has Sai Pallavi as heroine, Tovino Thomas as the villain and also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Krishna and Robo Shankar among others. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music of this movie produced by Wunderbar Films.
