Karthi is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Dev (Karthi 17) in Kulu Manali. According to reports, the film is touted to be an action horror movie. Dev marks Karthi's first film in the horror genre. The horror film is packed with loads of action as well. Dev is directed by debutant Rajath Ravishankar and bankrolled by Prince Pictures and Reliance Entertainment. 

After the successful Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh have teamed up again in Dev. The team earlier shot in Manali for a few days but had to stop shooting owing to heavy rains, landslides and floods. The final schedule shooting has resumed in Kulu Manali to complete the portions which were interrupted by the floods.  A high-action stunt and car chase sequence is being shot there. The entire film shoot will be wrapped with this schedule.

The team has shot in several locations in India including Mt. Everest where an action sequence has been shot. The post production work of the film including dubbing and background score is also happening in full swing. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music.
