The hugely awaited Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (CCV) directed by Mani Ratnam hit the screens worldwide yesterday (September 27). The film opened to positive reviews from all quarters. The film which carried a good pre-release buzz has lived up to the expectations of the audience and has ensured a good opening at the Box Office on its opening day despite being released a non-holiday.

CCV has grossed Rs. 89 lakhs in Chennai City alone. It is the fourth highest grossing film this year and is the tenth highest grossing Tamil film so far. In TN Box office the film is estimated to have grossed around Rs. 6 - 7 cr on its opening day.
