Chekka Chivantha Vaanam - I don't remember a film in past 10 years in Tamil Cinema that comes up with such a huge cast and what's more striking good about it is that every cast/character has an equal space on the screen. Unusually for a Maniratnam film the film starts right from the word go with a thin line plot - "Battle for Chair", in the process Mani takes us to the world of Senapathy & his family, where the powerful weapon Betrayal is unleashed. While every other character lived their role, ARR's Background score gives an authentic feel to this gangster world. (more)

#ccv aka chekka chivantha vaanam - mani has delivered an out and out gangster movie. He has directed this movie which has struck the right chords what he did not deliver with kaatru veliyidai this flick has delivered a lot. From reviewing stand point this one of his best flick in recent times. Vintage mani is back with what he is sort of. The movie's plot is gory power struggle between three brothers who are vying to take over the family business following the death of their father. The biggest plus is that mani has brought all the big stalwarts in a single movie and each character has defined backdrop and vengence. Sethupathi is the pick of the lot absolutely stunning performance. Music of rahman is good with montage shots spread across and bgm is ok. Go for it and enjoy mani's magic in big screen.
