Actor-Director-Producer Vijayakumar made a remarkable debut as filmmaker with Uriyadi. The 2016 film won appreciations from critics and audiences alike. The critically-acclaimed political thriller Uriyadi is based on evolution of caste-based political parties in Tamil Nadu.

Vijayakumar is all set to direct the sequel to this film titled Uriyadi 2. The sequel is set to be bankrolled by Suriya through his home banner 2D Entertainment. Vijayakumar will be acting and directing the film which is set to go on floors tomorrow. 

Suriya's 2D Entertainment has last produced Karthi starrer Kadaikutty Singam which went to be a big commercial success at the Box Office. Suriya's production house is known for producing quality movies that appeal to family and kids.
