Jiiva starrer sci-fi psychological thriller Kee has been lying in the cans due to financial issues. The latest development is that all the issues surrounding the film's release has been sorted out and the makers are planning to release the film by the end of this month (August 31). The release date 31st August is already crowded with Imaikka Nodigal, Naragasooran, 60 Vaayadhu Maaniram, Aaruthra (postponed from August 24 to 31) lined up for release on that day. However an official confirmation on the release date is awaited from the makers. 

The film went into production in August 2016 and the makers had planned to release the film in February 2018. The release was postponed to avert a clash with Kalakalappu 2. Kee starring Jiiva, Nikki Galrani and Anaika Soti in the lead roles is directed by debutant Kalees.  The technical crew incldues Vishal Chandrashekar for the music, Anish Tharun Kumar for cinematography and Nagooran Ramachandran for the edits. The film is bankrolled under the banner by Global Infotainment. Seven Screen Studios has acquired the TN theatrical rights of the film.
