Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming directorial starring Superstar Rajinikanth is one of the most-awaited Tamil films. The shooting of Superstar Rajinikanth - Karthik Subbaraj film is progressing at a brisk pace. The latest buzz is that Trisha would be roped in to play Rajinikanth's love interest apart from Simran. If on board, this movie will mark Trisha’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth. However an official confirmation is awaited from the makers. 

Thalaivar 165 (tentative title) boasts of an ensemble cast which includes Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Mega Akash, Sananth Reddy, Nawazuddin Siddiqui amongst others. The team has wrapped two schedules of the film and the next schedule is expected to begin shortly. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the film. Anirudh Ravichander is in charge of the music. 

Trisha is awaiting the release of '96' where she shares the screen space with Vijay Sethupathi. Her upcoming projects include Garjanai, Sathuranga Vettai 2, 1818, Paramapadham Vilayattu.
