The release date of director Mani Ratnam's upcoming multi-starrer film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam(CCV) has been officially announced to be September 28, 2018. The movie is touted to be socio-political drama with Vijay Sethupathi playing a cop, Simbu playing an Engineer and Arvind Swami playing a politician and  Arjun Vijay playing a villain.

The movie which also starrs Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana Erappa among others, has A.R. Rahman for the music and is produced by Madras Talkies and will be presented by Lyca Productions.
