Suriya's NGK opts out of Diwali race, will not clash with Vijay's Sarkar at the Box Office

The makers of Suriya starrer NGK had earlier confirmed that the film will hit the screens for Diwali. According to a report in a leading daily, the film will not release on Diwali as planned due to Selvaragavan's sudden ill health. The director has undergone an appendix surgery and will take some time to recuperate. Due to his unexpected illness, the film shooting is likely to be delayed and the film cannot release on Diwali as planned. With NGK opting out of Diwali race, it will not be clashing with Vijay's Sarkar at the Box Office. However an official confirmation is awaited from the makers.

About 60% of the film has been shot already and the team had planned to complete the shoot of the entire film in the final schedule which was to begin in mid-July. With Selvaraghavan being advised to take rest, the filming has been halted temporarily. The new schedule of the film will be decided only after Selvaraghavan recovers completely and also based on the dates allotted by the actors involved in the shoot. The film is expected to hit the screens by the end of the year or early next year.

Selvaraghavan has posted a tweet saying that he is fine and all set to resume the film shoot in a couple of days.

Hi friends. It was a simple medical procedure. I'm perfectly fine and have resumed work. Shooting for will start in next couple of days. Once again thank you all for your love and concern
