The shooting of Vijay's Sarkar is progressing at a brisk pace in Chennai. According to reports, the entire shoot will be wrapped in August. The team is currently shooting at EVP Film City. Vijay reportedly plays the role of an IT professional who lives in the US and later returns to India and gets involved in politics. 

Sarkar team is all set to leave to USA in the first week of August to shoot for the portions featuring Vijay as a techie. An intro song will also be shot. The USA schedule will last for 10 days. The team will resume the shooting in Chennai for some minor patchwork shots with which the entire film shoot will be wrapped.

Sarkar is slated for Diwali release. The film starring Vijay and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles is directed by AR Murugadoss. Radha Ravi, Pala Karuppiah, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Yogi Babu play supporting cast. Music by AR Rahman. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
