Vijay, the most sought after actor for top producers in Tamil cinema today?

 

If you are a follower of Tamil cinema, you would have noticed the recent rise in popularity for actor Vijay who despite being an already established star, enjoys a success like no other actor in today's Tamil. From theater owners refusing to support the actor's films in 2010, to him struggling to maintain the stability of hits in-between, to his name being associated with box-office hits in 2016-2018, Vijay's career graph has been vast in the last 8 years. 

Today, fans of the actor were busy doing 2 things 1) turning every update from Sarkar (Vijay's current film with Sun Pictures) into a viral trend and 2) trying to decode who Vijay is teaming up with for his next film (Vijay 63). As far as the latter part is concerned, Vijay on one hand is widely believed to be doing a quick film with AGS Entertainment and the other, he is said to be teaming up for a third time with director Atlee. Apparently Atlee struck a deal with Lyca Productions for a film a while ago, and currently both parties are keen on materializing the team up by adding Vijay to it [it was earlier planned to be a film with new faces].

Added to this, Super Good Films has declared that their 100th film will be with the star actor, while names of directors like Mohan Raja, H. Vinoth and Vignesh Shivn also keep cropping up as possible collaborators for Vijay's film.  And since producer of Mersal,  Sri Thenandal Films restablished their connection with the star actor by procuring the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of Sarkar, it pretty much establishes the fact that Vijay is not only strong in terms of box-office credibility but also the most-sought after actor in Kollywood today.
