Nadigar Sangam condemns S.Ve Shekher for his Facebook post, Actor apologises again with a video!

In a statement to the media about the recent controversy that surrounded actor-politician S.Ve.Shekher and his facebook post on 'women journalists', the South Indian Film Aristes' Association, also known as the Nadigar Sangam has condemned with the following letter:

Media which is considered as the fourth pillar of a republic is today uniting people..

To see women being courageous and with forward-approach these days, in this sort of media is a thing of pride.But Mr. S.Ve.Shekher has posted a derogatory post on women journalists through his Facebook account.

Generally we share the opinion-based posts we see on Facebook, only if we agree with it. Similarly, Mr. S.Ve.Shekher has shared a post on Facebook only by agreeing to the content. He should take moral responsibility for it.

S.Ve.Shekher who is known by the film industry has irresponsibly posted a derogatory post on women. The South Indian Film Aristes' Association condemns this with rigour.

Meanwhile, following media statements and an apology letter, S.Ve. Shekher has now released a video conveying his apology and explaining the allegations against his political stance. He was earlier an AIADMK MLA, but was expelled from the party following his differences with then party chief J Jayalalithaa. He later joined Congress in 2011 before moving to the BJP in 2013.
