As is known, the ongoing TFPC Strike in the Tamil film industry allows the release of non-Tamil language films in movie theatres and this loophole may just have helped the fate of Karthik Subbaraj's upcoming film Mercury starring Prabhu Deva in the lead. Mercury is a silent film with no dialogues (the dialogues are transmitted only through muted gestures, mime and title cards) and hence was scheduled to release in other non-Tamil languages as well. Director Karthick Subbaraj infact confirmed that the film will release as planned on April 13, 2018, while sending birthday wishes to his lead actor Prabhu Deva.
Wish you a very happy birthday @PDdancing Sir.... Thanks for starring in #Mercury & giving an excellent performance 👏👏👍...
