Karthik Subbaraj's 'Silent' Experiment is a let down of sorts!

Karthik Subbaraj's attempt to make a silent movie had potential but it isn't written and executed in the best possible fashion. If you go in to watch Mercury expecting another Pushpak, then be warned that you would end up disappointed.(more)

Karthik Subbaraj's silent horror-thriller is intriguing but ultimately doesn't add up

It's no spoiler to mention that Prabhu Deva plays a crucial role in the proceedings. His character is afflicted by mercury poisoning, but beyond that his motivations and his horrifying malevolence are superficially explained, just as Subbaraj does not deliver any sound comment on corporate negligenc...(more)

In a nutshell, Karthik Subbaraj's brave attempt needs to applauded when it comes to some experimentation in Indian cinema. Unfortunately his film based on the idea of mercury poisoning, corporate corruption and negligence wobbles to stay on its feet firmly due to a cluttered narrative and a few loop...(more)

A daring attempt; watch it with patience and an open mind, Mercury might thrill you

Mercury is definitely fictional. One leaving the theatre satisfied or otherwise depends on how well they are able to connect to the movie. The scenes might seem unconvincing but if you could not ponder about it and move on, Mercury might satisfy you. Watch it with patience and an open mind, perhaps ...(more)
