From posters to Trailer, Aruvi has sparks of creative boldness and technical brilliance

Quirky yet controversial posters: Arun Prabhu Purushothaman's Aruvi has been creating quite a buzz ever since its quirky yet controversial posters were released. While one poster featured a girl with a cigar, another one had an Indian goddess holding a gun. The posters were appreciated by the movie buffs for being bold and strikingly different. Having won several laurels at international film festivals since last year, the film will be released by Dream Warrior Pictures on December 15.

Unconventional Soundtrack:

The movie's soundtrack doesn't follow any commercial patterns or templates. The album has wide range of tracks from brilliant carnatic and Jazz infused Asaindhaadum Mayil to highly buoyant European music styled Cement Kaadu to mostly acapella'esque Kukkotti Kunnatti. Bindhu Malini's textured and punchy vocals gives another shade to the songs as she is the predominant singer throughout the album.  ( detailed review here )

International technical values

The teaser and the trailer ( watch here ) have increased the expectations by several notches, thanks to brilliant cuts and technical values at par with international standards. Music and sound design stand tall in the promo videos along with breathtaking cinematography. Every intense reaction of Aditi Balan (Aruvi) is complemented by an intelligent mix of editing and sound design, which unsettles the viewers. Very rarely do we get to see small and medium-budget films with such technical finesse. Also, unlike other award-winning films, Aruvi promises to be an engaging outing for everyone.

Multi-genre film

Going by the promos, the movie doesn't seem to fit into a particular genre and the storyline isn't guessable too. All that we know is it's going to be an unconventional and bold social drama, which reflects today's world. Aruvi may be a small movie in terms of budget, but it is very big in terms of production quality and creative boldness.

Bottomline

Aruvi has everything going for it so far. If it lives up to the expectations, it might just end the year on a high for the Tamil industry, just like how Dhuruvangal 16 did last year.
