2.0 will hit Hollywood standards - Excerpts from 2.0 Press Meet
The much awaited audio launch of the magnum opus 2.0 is about to happen tomorrow. But prior to that, a press meet was held this morning in which the core team, including Superstar Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson, Shankar and A. R. Rahman interacted with the media. We have jot down a few highlights from the meet.

  • When Rajini was asked as why he is so simple in his real life and doesn't act, he replied that nobody pays him to act in real life and that's the reason he is simple.

  • On asking Akshay Kumar about his performance as an antagonist, he said that he did not have to take the pressure on himself about the performance as director Shankar enacted most of the scenes for him and the former only had to perform it. He went on to reveal that his make up took solid 3.5 hours to be worn and 1.5 hours to remove.

  • Further, Shankar uncovered that Akshay Kumar is not just the antagonist, his character has varied shades of grey. On speaking more about the film he said, that 2.0 is not just a Tamil film, but an Indian movie making way for more 3D films in the future. He also stated that this science - socio - fiction will be of Hollywood standards, but not a copy from any of those.

  • When questioned if 2.0 was primarily focused to be a sequel of Endhiran, he answered that the familiar characters in the film have been retained and have taken to an unfamiliar background which was the reason for a second part. For a question, about why Arnold was in talks to work in the project but later did not continue, he said that the movie has a global message to be conveyed for which Arnold was about to be signed. But due to some reasons he had to step back from the movie.
