Mersal creates a world record; becomes the most liked movie teaser on YouTube 

As the teaser of Vijay's 61st film Mersal clocked 24 hours, it registered a whopping 11.2 million views and 728 K likes on YouTube. It is worth mentioning here that this video from Sony Music India has created a world record by becoming the world's most liked film teaser, surpassing the Lifetime teaser videos likes of Ajith's Vivegam (599 K) and Star Wars : The Last Jedi (575 K). 

The amount of fan-craze surrounding the lead star and the film keeps increasing day by day and, this huge viewership stands testament to that. While the rich visuals by cinematographer G.K Vishnu has been unanimously appreciated by everyone, there is a little disappointment too that neither the lead heorines Nithya, Samantha, Kajal nor the other cast memebers could be spotted anywhere in the teaser. 

Added to this a recent development where team Mersal has been temporarily banned from marketing the film using its title has left a ardent fans worried. However, given the stature and scale of the film, we believe this is just a minor block and the team should enjoy the positive numbers being raked in for the teaser video.
