Adhey Kangal Review - A good watch despite being a tad predictable !!!

Bharath Vijayakumar

Like any CV Kumar venture the highlight of Adhey Kangal is the plot. This man surely is an asset to Tamil cinema.

Plot:

The visually impaired hero falls for a girl before she disappears into thin air.

Cast:

This is Sshivada's third Tamil film and just like the previous two (Nedunchalai and Zero) she has a meaty role here. She is brilliant in a role which could have been made a caricature by most heroines around. Kalaiarasan is adept at the beginning but later in the film he does not quite bring out the tension or anxiety that you expect from the character that he plays. Balasaravanan brings in the laughs with the minimum fuss. Janani is good in the limited screen time.

Adhey Kangal is a good two hour watch with hardly any dull stretch. The best part is that the film keeps things quite simple and does not try to project itself as anything that it is not. The characters are minimal and there is no effort to mislead you. This does reduce the excitement to an extent as there are only a few probabilities for it all to end. But the film does well in not bringing an altogether different angle in the climax before tying the knots.

Ghibran proves his mettle once again with an interesting score. 'Thandhira' especially does stand out.

Bottomline:

Adhey Kangal is well made and an interesting watch. It does not really keep you guessing in tension but has you adequately engaged.
