Remo Day 1 Box Office Report - Sivakarthikeyan is the new crowd-puller

Sivakarthikeyan's Remo has stormed the box office despite mixed reviews. The collections reported across all the centers have surprised the movie buffs and industry trackers. Sivakarthikeyan has lived up to the expectations of the trade with Remo.

Third Highest in TN:

Remo's estimated collection of Rs 6.75 - 7 Cr becomes the 3rd highest day-1 grossed movie in TN for the year 2016, surpassing Suriya's 24's collection (Rs 6.1 Cr) and Vikram's Iru Mugan Collection (Rs 5 Cr). 

Wrong release time in Kerala:

Remo got only 42 screens in Kerala due to the release of Malayalam superstars -- Mohanlal and Mammooty's movies. If the makers released the movie on a different date, the collections could have been better, says an industry source.

Decent start in Overseas locations:

The lack of premieres in the overseas locations has affected around 20-30% of the opening revenue. Particularly in US, the movie had missed a opportunity of turning big without premieres. As per ATMUS, the leading distributor, Remo had started well compared to Telugu 'Premam' on Day 1.

As per Ajay, the trade source in UK, the movie had already collected Rs. 33 lakh during the weekend from advance bookings.
