MovieCrow Box Office Report - March 4 to 6

As many as three known films - Pokkiri Raja, Pichaikkaran and Sowkarpettai had hit the screens last weekend and all three of them opened to fairly negative to mixed reviews. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Pichaikkaran

In spite of the mixed reviews, Pichaikkaran took a good opening, thanks to Vijay Antony's earlier hit films – Naan and Salim, which made him a household name. The movie is likely to become a sleeper hit.

2. Pokkiri Raja

Jiiva seems to be struggling to find the right scripts to act in. Although the movie had a wide release, the reviews and initial word of mouth have been largely underwhelming. The movie's prospects at the box office look bleak in the coming days.

3. Sowkarpettai

Srikanth's Sowkarpettai could not make any noise with a handful of new releases around it. Only few websites cared to review the film, and the reviews weren't encouraging too.

Other Movies

Kanithan, Sethupathi, Miruthan and Aarathu Sinam were hanging on to few screens each in the city, and they are likely to be replaced across the theatres next week.

Upcoming week's releases

Vijay Sethupathi's Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum, Stone Bench's anthology film – Aviyal, Vemal's Mapla Singam and few more lesser known films will be clashing at the box office on March 11.
