Interesting Knot, Average masala.

Sasi has picked up an interesting knot for a proper masala flick. Though not entirely new with Thambikku Endha Ooru obviously coming to mind the reason and the settings do ensure that Pichaikkaran is unique. But Pichaikkaran tries to tread the middle path between an outright masala and a film that tries to show the lives of beggars in an entertaining manner. An average masala churned from an interesting knot, this Pichaikkaran is neither too poor to beg nor too rich to offer.(more)

An Emotional Drama With A Feel-good Factor

Pichaikkaran is a tale overflowing with emotions.

While it is very respectable of Sasi to put forth the real life episode of a noble man on the wide screen, the over-exaggerations end up over cooking the broth. The multiple distractions from the thread don't keep the audiences engaged too. (more)

Entertaining

Pichaikkaran's strength is Sasi�s packaging and captivating dialogues. The director has also got the right casting and each and every actors have done their job well. To start with, Vijay Antony fits the bill perfectly both as a posh businessman and a fierce beggar. (more)
